Grey weather and outfit

Big hello to my beautiful people!!

FINALLY an outfit post! I know I haven't done one in so long... I think "ugh, it's so hard to take photos by myself" but then as soon as I do it, I think "Oh hey, that wasn't hard... I should do this more...". Silly me. Didn't put a whole heap of thought into my outfit today... it's grey and gloomy outside and coincidentally I picked an outfit that matched the sky hahaha. Went out with a friend and did some of my Christmas shopping! I hope all of you are having a lovely day :)

Also, EXCITING NEWS! After stalking the lookbook.nu website religiously for probably the last year, I have finally signed up!! If you have an account, would mean the world to me if you hyped my looks and fanned me! Considering at the moment I have 0 hypes and 0 fans... hahaha :P
I'm not expecting to get heaps of traffic on the site at all... just thought it would be fun to finally sign up and show my support to all of the bloggers on there that I love... and I thought I might as well post some looks on there as well :)

This is the link to my Lookbook.nu profile:

Hope you're all enjoying the holiday season!

Disgusted...

If you know me well, you'd know I'm pretty passionate about gay rights. While I myself am straight, I have gay family members and tons of gay friends (generally pretty normal when you're doing a Performance degree in uni!!) so I've grown up knowing that there's nothing wrong with being gay, and that you should be comfortable with your sexuality.

However, sadly, there are a lot of people that don't think this way due to religious beliefs and basically just plain ignorance! Instead, they grow up with the belief that homosexuality is a choice, that they will go to hell for being gay, and that they do not deserve equal rights.

For those ignorant people that have not taken the time to get to know anyone gay, let me enlighten you...

1) Being gay is NOT a choice!! You would have to be living under a rock to not realise how much discrimination gay people experience. Why on earth would ANYONE willingly choose to be gay and experience all of this? I have gay friends that have struggled with "coming out" for years and years and years because they've wanted their feelings to go away and are scared as to what other people might think!

2) They are not freaks, and there is nothing wrong with them!!!  I have a few straight friends who have been straight their entire lives, and then found themselves attracted to someone of the same sex, but noone else of the same sex, just that one person. That does not make them gay. We do not fall in love with boys or girls, we fall in love with people. Why is that such a crime? They cannot be expected to turn their feelings off, or just become straight. It's how they are, and even if they want to, they can't just change.

3) They are not all the same! TV shows and films tend to represent them all in the same way... as flamboyant, materialistic, loud and often obnoxious. I have gay friends who you would never guess were gay until they told you. Conversely, I have flamboyant gay friends who you can see are obviously gay, without them even speaking a word to you. I have gay friends that love shopping, I have gay friends that hate shopping. I have gay friends that love Xbox games and sports.

4) Most gay guys are not going to target straight males. This is for all ignorant straight guys that think "oh, these faggots are gonna try and anal me when I'm not looking"... They can generally tell a straight guy from a gay guy, and they're obviously not going to target you if you're straight. They're not all just out for sex.

And, even if you do know all this and still are homophobic or "hate all gay people", this DOES NOT give you the right to torment them, tease them and make their lives miserable!
I saw a play earlier this year called 'The Laramie Project' which was based on a true story about a gay teenager in Wyoming who was tortured and KILLED at the age of 15 for being gay!
These two videos have also made me emotional because I feel so terrible for gay teenagers and kids that have to deal with ignorant people bullying them and sometimes even making them think that suicide is the only way out.

I have to go now, dinner's on the table, but seriously! Leave them alone! Watch what you say because words hurt! And if you have a problem with someone about something THAT THEY CANNOT CONTROL, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!!!

We are disposable teens

Hey hey!

So today I thought I'd do my interpretation of Marilyn Manson's makeup... Now, he has lots of different looks and I couldn't really pick just one so I've sorta combined a few together and this is what I've come up with! Was so much easier than I thought!

And I know it's not brilliant, but I think I did pretty good for a first try :)

Let me know what you think!

Summer bum

So, I'm really wanting some hot weather now. Normally, I hate summer as I struggle to find clothes to wear that can actually make a fashion statement, while you're still keeping cool at the same time (When it's too hot to wear anything but shorts and a t-shirt, how in the holy sam hill can you make that look fashionable? Know what I mean?), but in the last few months, since I've started going on lookbook.nu, reading fashion blogs and whatnot, I now have a whole lotta inspiration for summer outfit ideas.

Here are a few pictures that make me want to scream with excitement for summer!!

As you can see, I'm really into hats at the moment. It's really hard to find the types that I want though because it seems like every single store near me only seems to stock one type of hat... this type, in a range of colours...

Which, you know, is cute and all, BUT I ALREADY BOUGHT ONE LAST SEASON!!! Sigh... hopefully I'll find my dream hat one day. And by that time, maybe my hair will have grown out finally to the length I want it to. And maybe I'll be rich and famous with my own personal butler and a strawberry garden. I can dream, can't I?

Hoping your weather is a lot more predictable than what we're experiencing...

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!!! I hope you all have exciting plans for tonight (if you're into Halloween)!
I went to a party on Saturday night for my friend Violette's 20th, and it was Halloween themed. Had such a good night! Drank too much (what's new?) and ended up spooning with some friends on a fold out couch. It was great.

This is what I wore... I was a vampire! Rawr. Scary, right? ;) Sorry the outfit picture isn't that great. I was running late and didn't get to snap my outfit beforehand, and this was the best photo I could get. The wig ended up driving me crazy, so, in classy Taylor fashion, I whipped it off before the end of the night.

Would love to see pictures of your costumes! They can give me some ideas for next year ;)

Toodalooo!!!

I'm back in black (and orange)

Shirt: Chicabooti
Jacket: Roads
Glitter leggings: Portmans
Shoes: Rubi
All jewellery except earrings: Equip
Earrings: Sportsgirl

Okay, I'm officially the worst blogger in the world. If there was a trophy for the worst, most inconsistent blogger, I think I would win it. Except, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get a trophy. I'd get tomatoes thrown at me, or be chained to a wall upside down to a wall and have all the blood rush to my head and then have people publicly humiliate me by recording it and putting it on YouTube.
Yeah, alright, maybe I have an overactive imagination. But seriously, I'm so so so so so sorry!!!!
I'm done with uni for the year now, and I have an epic 4 months off, which means lots more posts from me!!

So here's an outfit post, this is just what I wore tonight to the movies with one of my close friends. I know some people think it's a bit silly to dress up for the movies coz you're just sitting in a dark room, and when people say to me "Why are you wearing that?", I just say "Why not?"
Because, why not? :D Any excuse to dress up is a good one! I'm such a girl hahaha.

Hope you like it, and if you don't that's okay too :)

And I will DEFINITELY post soon!!

I'm not quite dead yet

Hey everyone!

I am still here, alive and kicking! I know I haven't posted in over a month, I'm a terrible blogger!

I've been really sick and also incredibly busy with uni work, therefore I have honestly not even had anything exciting to blog about. Seriously, nothing interesting has happened in my life. Except some personal stuff which I don't like putting out on the internet :P And don't worry, it's good personal stuff :)

So this post is crap again, I still don't have anything interesting to write about but I PROMISE I'M GETTING BACK TO IT! More outfit posts coming as soon as I can!!!

Somebody That I Used to Know

Hello my ham sandwiches,

Do you like me greeting you that way? Get used to it. All the cool kids are saying it. So, basically, just me.

Just felt like sharing this song with you. It's called "Somebody that I Used to Know" by Gotye and featuring Kimbra. He's an Australian artist so that automatically gives him bonus points from me :) This song is absolutely AMAZING and if you haven't heard it, you need to listen to it NOW. The lyrics are incredible, so true and honest. I have listened to this song at least 60 times over the last 3 days; I'm not even joking. I can relate to it so well- it describes perfectly a sort-of relationship I had with this guy. I'm not going into details but it's really special to me for personal reasons and never have I connected with a song this much.
So, check it out. It's taking Australia by storm! All of my friends are loving it- even the ones that don't listen to my kind of music so obviously it's good :) :)

The link to the music video (which also happens to be amazing) is here!

Another outfit post

I find the only way to spice up my boring and mundane uni life is to dress to impress, every time I go. As I always say, "When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, good things happen!"

So my outfit for uni the other day...

Jacket: Chicabooti
Singlet: I cannot remember for the life of me... got it ages ago
Scarf: Cotton On
Tights: Big W
Shorts: Temt
Earrings: Sportsgirl
Cross ring: Sportsgirl
Green ring: Equip

I'm loving these tights- they were from Big W for about $10; such a bargain!!! Althought I've worn them twice and they're already starting to ladder, which is pretty disappointing...

Sorry about the crappy photos I've been posting. The background is dull, the angles are dull... I don't have my own photographer so I get to use the lovely self-timer button on my camera, and set it up on my kitchen counter (the only place where you can get my whole body in the shot)... I think I'm gonna try and find someone to take my photos for me haha :)

Now I'm off to clean the house... what an eventful life I lead!

Have a good day and stay smiling :)

I got pictures on my mind

These are just some random pictures from my photo collection. Ones that inspire me, and ones that I just think are really cool :)

And check out my Americana nails!! They're far from perfect, but it was my first try doing any sort of nail art and I'm pretty happy with them. I'm obsessed with this trend at the moment; I hope it lasts! :)

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, uni started back up again last week and then I got terribly sick with a bad cold so haven't really had anything interesting to talk about!
Thought I'd just update you with what I'm wearing today! Nothing special, just had uni, but pretty much everything I'm wearing is new and I really wanted to wear it out! Probably wasn't the best choice of attire for the weather today (torrential downpours!!!) but meh, I was determined.
This outfit is I think quite bohemian which is not normally my style, but hey, it's good to change things up, right?
Oh, and it was comfyyyyyyyy :)

Hope you all have an excellent day and don't get soaked like I did this morning!!

The Ending of my Childhood

It was a cold, rainy night on Friday the 22nd July 2011. The weather seemed  to know what was coming, and the sound of the rain almost sounded like the taunting of the producers whispering “It all ends… tonight!”.
I entered the cinema with my family, feeling mixed emotions- excited at how the last Harry Potter flick would turn out, but also dreading the feeling of loss and emptiness I know I would experience when it finished.
The film itself? The whole way through I was fascinated, kept in suspense, my eyes glued to the screen. I felt everything the characters felt, and yes, I cried like a baby. It was a brilliant piece of work I think!
And when I came out… it felt like there was a piece of me missing. The part where my childhood memories were. The last decade of my life, I was obsessed with the books and the films, my world revolved around when the next instalment would come out. Harry Potter taught me to believe that anything is possible!
And now it’s over.
Other fanatics like myself probably understand the loss I’m feeling. But you know, Harry Potter is not really over. The story goes on, in our hearts.
Yeah I’m not very poetic haha. I’m just a total freak with no other way of expressing my thoughts. So yeah. Toodles :)

My 18th!

It's been a while. To be perfectly honest, I've had nothing even remotely interesting to post. So I haven't.
Buttttt a few days ago it was my 18th, and I think that's definitely worthy of a post, wouldn't you agree? :)

Had an amazing day! The weather was terrible, rain was pouring down and I think there was a thunderstorm at one point. Anyway Mum, the best friend and I went to go see Bridesmaids in the morning. OMG, sooooooo funny. The whole theatre was literally in hysterics. Judd Apatow is actually a legend, he does so many of my favourite films. If you haven't seen it, GO AND SEE IT NOW!!!

Then the bestie had to leave because she had work, so Mum and I drove into the city, to an outlet mall which I will not reveal the name of, coz, ya know, I don't want all of my followers who clearly stalk me (all 3 followers! cue gasps!) to find out where I live and creep me out...
So yeah, Mum took me on a shopping spree. As I'm writing this, I realise I probably should have taken pictures of what I bought. But I can't be bothered. Meh. I'll do it later. Bought a lot of really cute stuff, as well as a cute leopard print dress for clubbing (only $7!) and a gorgeous red dress for my party!

Went home and checked the Facebook- overwhelmed with the amount of Happy Birthday messages I received (I have the most amazing friends!!!) and then got ready to go out for dinner. The family and I went out to this teppanyaki restaurant in the city. If you've never had teppanyaki, again, you're missing out. It's an Asian cuisine where they cook all the food in front of you but it's like a show and they do all of these tricks. It's hard to explain. Here's a picture.

Got my first legal drink! A Japanese slipper, which I thinkkkk is Midori, Contreau and lime juice or something? I don't remember. Correct me if I'm wrong. I found it way too strong so I just got a vodka and diet coke after that, which was much  better :)

Next day I got to enjoy the full advantages of being 18! A nice boy took me out for dinner which was lovely, then my girls came around for pre-drinks and we went clubbing!!! Words cannot describe its awesomeness. Met so many nice people and danced the night away, lived my life and stayed out on the floor :P I think I could go clubbing every night. Actually, no, I couldn't. But it was really cool okay!!!!!
This is what I wore...

Dress- Valleygirl
Tights- Equip
Wedges- Rubi Shoes
Cross earrings- Sportsgirl

Then I had 2 days to sort of recover, and summon my strength for my party on Friday night! Spent two and a half hours getting ready ahaha!

Loving the big 18 cup that the bestie bought me :)

Had an incredible night. Realised again how lucky and blessed I am to have the friends that I have. Not only do they know how to party (:P) but they are the sweetest, friendliest, helpful, most genuine people I could ever hope to have in my life.
Drank quite a lot so there are large chunks of the night that I don't really remember, but oh my goodness did I have fun.

Literally spent the entire day recovering today. Sore throat and haven't gotten out of bed, and its 6:17pm. Ugh. But hey, it was worth it! :)

So I have 5 Facebook notifications that are glaring at me and clearly want to be answered so I'd better go attend to those. I'll post more later! xxx

I'm Catwoman.

So I had an 18th the other night and the theme was Superheros. Yeah, my friends and I have been really getting into themed parties lately. We've had a jungle party, a twins party, a burlesque party, a Mexican fiesta party... and now a superhero party!
Obviously, as far as a costume goes, first thing I thought of was getting a WonderWoman outfit or just getting some superman undies and wearing them over some leggings.

But no. I remembered Catwoman. And she's sexy. And she's awesome.

So this was my take on the Catwoman costume!!

Yeah, don't mind the posing. I'm horrible at posing seductively. I'm too much of a freak :D

Leggings: borrowed from a friend, she got them at SUPRE
Shoes: They're from America, all I know is Fergie designed them... the singer...not the royal one...
Singlet: it was my mum's, no clue where she got it from. I cut some holes in it, as you can clearly see.
Whip: is not a whip, its a belt. The cool kids improvise.
Ears and tail: Party Plus! I sprayed them with black hair spray because they were brown.

The mask, I did with makeup. It was actually really easy. I just drew a basic outline with a black eyeliner, wet a brush coloured in the mask with two black eyeshadows. Then I used a white eyeliner to draw the scratches, and I set the whole thing with a setting spray so it wouldn't smudge during the night.
And I curled my hair with hot rollers, then just ran my hands through it so it didn't look ridiculous.

I was pretty happy with the way I looked, I mean personally I think I look really weird with a mask on, but then again, doesn't everybody?

Toodles :) x
