My bad skin and how I cleared it!

Hey hey!

So as some of you know, I've had almost perfect skin pretty much my whole life. I mean, I'd get the occasional break out if I left my makeup on overnight or something, but overall, it was pretty good.
But in about July last year it started getting worse and worse. I still don't know what caused it; I think it was the makeup I was using (Revlon Colourstay)... So I changed foundation brands over and over again to try and find something better. Switched to a cleanser for sensitive skin. But nothing was changing.

My skin was constantly broken out, even though I became compulsive about washing my face morning and night. I used all sorts of D.I.Y treatments to try and get rid of them. I started becoming really self conscious about my skin. All my friends were noticing, same with my parents and I just had no clue how to get rid of it. I was uncomfortable letting people see my naked face, which had never been an issue for me before.
But then...

In comes my beautician friend Bobbi!!! About 2 months ago she suggested I try Arbonne's Clear Advantage acne solution treatment. She told me she'd been hearing lots of good things about it, and she knew a girl who's skin had gotten significantly better after just a week on Clear Advantage! So, desperate, I thought I'd give it a go.

Basically it's a cleanser, toner, moisturiser and a spot solution gel/cream. You use everything twice a day, so of course I read the instructions and followed them exactly. And sure enough, within A WEEK, my skin already looked better! I kept using it until I used everything up (which lasted about 5 weeks), and I noticed a drastic change in my skin. No, my skin is still not great, and I do have a lot of scarring. But the breakouts are gone and haven't come back! I will elaborate further in a bit, but here's the photos...

This was my skin on Day 1, right as I was about to go to sleep. Pretty terrible photo because it's so close up but there's not really any other way of showing you how bad my skin was.

After 1 WEEK on Clear Advantage!! Isn't the difference just amazing???

After 5 weeks on Clear Advantage. I had used up everything by this point. Now I'm SO MUCH happier with my skin! I even went to a rehearsal at uni with no makeup on because it's that much better. As you can see, it's not perfect, I still have scarring and I'm finding out the best way to get rid of that... but it's easy enough to cover with makeup (btw my foundation is the Nude by Nature liquid foundation. I love love love it because it's a buildable coverage and it doesn't make my skin break out!)

So what now? I asked Bobbi what I should use on my face now, as I now have no more acne to get rid of. She suggested Arbonne's Fc5 products- a cleanser/toner, moisturiser, and a powder which works kinda like a primer as well. So I've been using that for a week now and my skin is looking great! You're supposed to put the powder on before the moisturiser, and then put your makeup over the top of it, which I do. However, I also use the powder like a normal face powder. And omg, my makeup lasts SO LONG! Not even joking, I applied my makeup at 8am the other morning, and when I took it off at 11pm it haven't even moved.

This stuff has seriously changed my life. I would recommend it to EVERYONE! It's a little on the pricey side but it's so worth it when you see the difference it makes to your skin!!

So you can buy everything on the Arbonne website. Prices are all on there. I'm pretty sure you can buy it and then have it shipped :) That's what I did with the Fc5 anyway, because of course I got the Clear Advantage from Bobbi :)

Here's photos of the 2 sets I used.

The Clear Advantage: Cleanser, Toner, Moisturiser and Spot Solution cream.

The Fc5: Cleanser/Toner, Day Lotion, and Mattifying Powder.

So there we have it!!! My review on Arbonne, AKA my new best friend, AKA the love of my life. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS STUFF TO EVERYONE! I'M SO HAPPY :D

Hope this review was helpful to you and I'll be sure to write soon :)

Bali Holiday!

Hey y'all!

So I know I said I'd post more frequently, but honestly, I haven't had time. I actually just got back from a 9 day trip to Bali- I went with uni friends and it was AMAZING!!!!
To make up for my absence, I thought I'd post some pictures from the trip :) Hope you enjoy :)

My first meal- nasi goreng. Chicken was too spicy for me but the rice was delicious! Shame about the major indigestion later :/

View of the beach from around the back of the Discovery Mall, a massive shopping centre just down the road from our hotel (FYI, we stayed in the Oasis Kuta. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something very cheap and basic...)

Our hotel pool, so gorgeous, and the temperature was just right :) Spent a lot of my time lying on those chairs, getting my tan on!

Muffins from Bread Talk. In case you were wondering, 8.000 rupiah converts to about 80c... yes, you read it right :D

I swear I bought cocktails just for the decorations. Too pretty!!

I got a henna (temporary!!!!!!) tattoo, yo. Was pretty cool, lasted about a week and a half.

Don't know why this photo turned out so blurry. My wonderful friends surprised me on my birthday dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant with this mouthwatering piece of mudcake... Om nom nom.

The view from the top of Sky Garden- a club. I wish the clubs in Perth were more like this :/

The front of Waterbom Park... What is it? Well, it's what it sounds like. And it's freaking awesome.

One of the most picturesque places I've ever seen. Got to eat dinner here :) It's called The Blue Marlin cafe, in Jimbaran Bay. Seriously, if you ever go to Bali, GO THERE and watch the sunset!!!

Breathtakingly beautiful Bali sunset

Buy 1 get 1 free cocktails... Yep, I am all over that.

Crappy imitation bags they sell in the markets. No, I didn't buy a bag, but I bought a few t-shirts. I found it so tricky bartering with them so I didn't get ripped off!

A big event was happening at Turtle Beach, we were lucky enough to witness it! We each got a 1-day old baby turtle (I named mine Monsieur Parouche. He seemed French.) and got to release it into the ocean :D Cutest. Thing. Ever.

Bali Cider- so yummy! And my lips are blue coz I'd had this crappy pre-mixed bottled stuff before called Mix-Max... and it turned my lips blue. So yeah.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!!! I should be posting a video soon, I just have no editing software atm which makes making videos impossible :/ Sorry for keeping you waiting so long!!!

Love, Taylor

It's been a while...

Oh my god. It's been almost 3 months since I've posted. Can you ever forgive me?
The sad thing is, I don't even have a good excuse. My life, I think, is just so unbelievably boring and uneventful that I feel like I never have anything interesting to post. Seriously. Last week of the uni semester this week though, so let's hope that in my two-month break I'll have lots of outfit posts, and my blog will be so brilliant it will make up for my absence :)

Not much to really write about today (nothing exciting going on), but I thought I'd show you some makeup I did the other day for a tutorial on my Youtube channel
(you can watch the tutorial here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZaplwEX7p8&list=UUKShRu67PsPSBbB2FmcFUBg&index=1&feature=plcp)

It's about how to make green eyes pop! My favourite feature about myself is my big, green eyes and I love making them stand out, especially for a night out. Pinks and purples are contrasting to green, so I find that these colours look best around my eyes to draw attention.

A dark brown smokey eye also works wonders for me. Not quite sure why that is, but hey, if it works...

Alright, I have to go, dinner's ready! I PROMISE it won't be another 3 months :)

Kiss me once again

Hello to my little spring rolls and chicken dumplings (I guess I start referring to people as food when I'm hungry...)!!!!

Back at uni now, so happy to finally be back amongst all the other performance students, and excited to learn bigger and better things now I'm in my second year! :) Workload is going to be pretty intense though, I can tell already...

Thought I'd just do an outfit post today. I had an audition in the morning (which I thought went well but again, you never really know do you?) and then I worked, so nothing big. Hope you like it :)

Drunk and I am seeing stars

Hey dolls!

Hope you're all doing well!

I've been stuck in the house for the last week because I got my tonsils out, which totally and completely sucked. The operation in itself wasn't that bad, but the recovery, not going to lie, has been horrible. The first few days I was like "pfft, this isn't even bad, what's everyone going on about? I AM INVINCIBLE!". But after maybe 5 days, the pain kicked in. And oh my word, when I'm trying to eat, it is agonising. I'm basically starving because even the thought of trying to swallow scares me, then when I feel like I'm going to die because I'm so hungry and I finally cave in and go to eat, I take one bite and it feels like razor blades are going down my throat and getting stuck there. The pain brings tears to my eyes, I end up bawling my eyes out and not eating anything. And still being starving. I'm so over this. It's ridiculous.

I've been stuck at home for a week as I can't risk going outside, as I am more likely to catch a disease and make my condition worse. However, today I'd had enough of being stuck inside, in my pyjamas for a week so Mum and I ventured out to buy some new bed covers for my brand new double bed (big girl bed, yayyyy!).

Getting to finally put some makeup on and wear actual clothing... you would not believe how much better it made me feel. Here's a few pictures of what I wore :) Pretty casual but it wasn't exactly an exciting day.

So hopefully I'll be better soon and can eat properly and wear proper clothes every day... that would be nice. Because I'm going crazy here!!

Love from a very distressed and upset Taylor xxx

Single Awareness Day

Alright, so I didn’t want to be the annoying girl raining on everyone’s parade on Valentine’s day, but you know me, I can’t keep my mouth shut, here I go.

I DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT YOUR BOYFRIEND GOT YOU FOR VALENTINES DAY.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOH, chocolate, flowers and a teddy. How original. He must really love you. Oh wait, he just wants to get laid tonight. He looked in the Valentine’s day handbook and followed the rules. He’s made you happy. Now it’s his turn. Girls, you’d better give him what he wants tonight because the poor guy is just doing the best he can on this poor excuse of a “special day”. I’m joking. Kind of.

Is Valentine’s day even a real holiday? No. Are we excused from school and from work? No. Valentine’s day is just a consumerist holiday designed TO MAKE MONEY!

WHAT IN THE GREAT ODEN’S RAVEN IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THE “LOVE OF YOUR LIFE” BUYING YOU THE SAME THING AS EVERY OTHER NON-SINGLE GIRL IN THE WORLD?

I mean for God’s sake. I’m single and I’m happy being single. I’m not the bitter single girl.  Not saying I’m anti-relationship or anything! I would be equally happy in a relationship. But even if I WAS in a committed relationship, I would still hate Valentine’s day just as much. I’d like for my boyfriend and I to treat it just like any other day. Sure, we’ll go out on a date and have some fun. But he’d better not buy me flowers and chocolate and a teddy. I swear. Or I will actually hit someone. If he’s gonna buy me something, it had better be something thoughtful. Something sentimental that means something to me.

I always say I would rather have my boyfriend surprise me on a day that’s totally random. Have him spontaneously rock up at my house with pizza and my favourite ice cream and be like “Hey baby, I bought us tickets to see the Arctic Monkeys. Surprise! Let’s go.” That would make me so unbelievably happy because it’s THOUGHTFUL.

Also, Valentine’s day is one day out of an entire year. I wouldn’t want to have to remind my boyfriend to do something nice and special for me. Or expect it just one day. He shouldn’t need just one day (the same day as everyone else) to tell me and show me how much he loves me. That should be every day. Anniversaries are special. Those are the days where he can go all out. Because that’s between just me and him, not the entire world.

And one more note. Facebook. If I see one more girl posting a photo on Facebook of what her boyfriend got her today, and rubbing it in the faces of all the single girls who are posting pathetic statuses about it being “single awareness day” and wanting cuddles because they’re forever alone… I will go postal. Seriously I will rage. Girls writing statuses about this: you are single for a reason. STOP moping about not having a boyfriend! It is not the most important thing in the world! Yeah, relationships are great, but being single is great too! Have a little self respect and learn to love yourself, then maybe someone can learn to love you.

So I’m posting this before even reading it through and editing it. I’m sorry if it doesn’t make a lot of sense, I’ve just gotta get it off my chest before I go insane.

And to all the couples spending a nice night together that ARE NOT telling the entire world about it, that have given each other thoughtful gifts and are just perfectly content spending time with each other… I commend you. Thank you. And to all the single girls out there that really don’t care at all about Valentine’s day? I like you. Let’s be friends.

Good day.

Sup homie g's?

Thought I'd throw in an outfit post as- big whoop di do- I've been neglecting my blog. It's just... my life is really not all that interesting hahaha :P Trying to socialise as much as possible before I get my tonsils out on the 9th of February- eek! Not looking forward to it at all!!

Wore this outfit out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant with a dear friend I haven't seen in a while. In Perth everywhere is pretty casual haha but I'm a freak and have to wear heels every single time I go out past 4pm... So I dressed them down. Still get death stares though. Oh well, I wear what I want to wear and if people don't like that, that's their problem!
Don't be hatin coz you jelly ;)

Happy New Years!

Well hello 2012!!

Happy New Years to everyone! I spent the day at the Perth Cup, with full intentions of acting classy and watching the horse races... instead my highly drunk self sat in the shade eating a chicken burger and texting numerous people... Oh, and I got quite sunburnt on my back! Totally should have slipped, slopped and slapped.
Afterwards we headed out into a club in the city where we danced and partied until midnight. Was a good, kinda crazy day and night! Here's a few snaps of what I was wearing and how I did my hair and makeup.

Hope you all had a fabulous night! Remember that what's in the past is in the past, we can't change what's happened but we can always make fresh starts... providing we don't all die in 2012 ;)

Here's to the new year!
