I'm Catwoman.

So I had an 18th the other night and the theme was Superheros. Yeah, my friends and I have been really getting into themed parties lately. We've had a jungle party, a twins party, a burlesque party, a Mexican fiesta party... and now a superhero party!
Obviously, as far as a costume goes, first thing I thought of was getting a WonderWoman outfit or just getting some superman undies and wearing them over some leggings.

But no. I remembered Catwoman. And she's sexy. And she's awesome.

So this was my take on the Catwoman costume!!

Yeah, don't mind the posing. I'm horrible at posing seductively. I'm too much of a freak :D

Leggings: borrowed from a friend, she got them at SUPRE
Shoes: They're from America, all I know is Fergie designed them... the singer...not the royal one...
Singlet: it was my mum's, no clue where she got it from. I cut some holes in it, as you can clearly see.
Whip: is not a whip, its a belt. The cool kids improvise.
Ears and tail: Party Plus! I sprayed them with black hair spray because they were brown.

The mask, I did with makeup. It was actually really easy. I just drew a basic outline with a black eyeliner, wet a brush coloured in the mask with two black eyeshadows. Then I used a white eyeliner to draw the scratches, and I set the whole thing with a setting spray so it wouldn't smudge during the night.
And I curled my hair with hot rollers, then just ran my hands through it so it didn't look ridiculous.

I was pretty happy with the way I looked, I mean personally I think I look really weird with a mask on, but then again, doesn't everybody?

Toodles :) x

Mum always told me not to play with scissors

So today was just a chill day, been lazing around the house in my trackies feeling motivated to do something but not knowing what to do. After checking out some lookbooks (on Youtube as well as on websites) I realised how hopelessly bored I am with my clothes so I went to my pyjama drawer. Obviously it contains my pyjamas, but also bits of clothing I never wear anymore and occasionally just sleep in. Clothes that I don't mind if  they get wrecked. So I figured I'd try and customise em, make em new again. Key word in that sentence is try.

Someone that can barely draw or even walk in a straight line (namely, me) should probably not be cutting up clothes. But hey, at least they're old. This basic grey t-shirt was a bit of a fail. I was aiming to sort of turn it into a more slouchy shirt that can hang over my shoulder. But I cut a bit too much off, and then I ended up with it looking ridiculously baggy.

I tried to make some alterations to it but it really just didn't work.

Looks a bit like I'm a little girl trying on Mummy's clothes and they don't fit me very well. Actually, no, it looks like a seventeen year old girl tried to cut her clothes and failed miserably. Oh wait, that happened...

So then I tried something different with a dress I bought from Primark last year when I visited London. I fell in love with the picture on the shirt so I bought it without trying it on,  but when I got back I realised didn't quite like the cut of the dress at the bottom... so into the pyjama drawer it went. So I thought it would be cool to just sort of transform it into a shirt. But as I can't cut in a straight line, the bottom was really sort of jagged... dunno if that's really the right word but you get what I mean... so I ended up cutting a sort of semicircle into the bottom and tying the sides together to cover my rough cutting skills. I think I sort of fixed it, it looks okay I reckon... Excuse the trackies btw, I did say it was a lazy day...

Still pretty messed up but I put a jacket over it and it looks heaps better. One good thing that's come out of today!!

Even though I failed, I won't be giving up! I'll try again on some more old shirts and now I've learned from my mistakes :)

I'm off to see what else I have in my wardrobe that I can maybe wear in a different way without causing grievous bodily harm to my poor clothes!

We gotta get out of this place... if it's the last thing we ever doooo

Sometimes, for a fashion-conscious girl, living in Australia sucks.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I LOVE Australia. I think it's a beautiful country and I just got my citizenship a few months ago. I'm proud to consider myself an Australian! I like the warm weather in summer, champagne on the beach on Christmas morning, our laidback lifestyles. I like how it gets cold in winter, but not so cold we have to sacrifice looking good to stay warm.  But no matter how much people try to convince us otherwise, I believe we are hopelessly  isolated.
We are never on the cutting edge of anything. We’re always one, or two, or three steps behind the United Kingdom or the USA. Personally, I LOVE London street style. I read fashion blogs from Londoners and most of the stuff they wear is put together in such a unique way and it just looks amazing. BUT as we’re in opposite hemispheres, it makes getting some inspiration difficult. I try and get ready in the morning, I browse through some blogs and what do I find? Super awesome, summer outfits.

How are these any help to me whatsoever right now, when it’s winter over here? Don’t worry, I’m not crazy. I doubt these people think “Oh hey, maybe I should put a picture up of me wearing some winter clothes so we can make that unknown Taylor chick from Australia happy”. All I’m saying is it’s frustrating. I’m forced to stalk these blogs back to when it’s winter over there so I can get some ideas as to what to wear that morning. And that’s time consuming.
Where are the Australian fashion blogs? I know there are some… But it seems like all Aussie girls just wear what’s on trend, what they see in magazines… And while I do like to wear some things like that, I don’t like to look like everybody else.
If there’s any Australian style blogs where the girls featured actually dress a bit differently, then let me know!! Would make my day/week/season :)
This is one of the reasons why I can’t wait to get out of Australia and move to Los Angeles. “What?!!!” you say. “Why move to LA when you’re obsessed with London fashion?!!”
Because everythinggg happens in LA :D I love LA :) I can go on movie auditions all the time. Nothing happens where I live. Acting opportunities are not exactly in abundance over here. And in LA I can keep up with the London fashion blogs because then we’ll be in the same hemisphere!

See how happy I look? Clearly it's meant to be :P

Oh, poor poor me, stop complaining Taylor, there’s much bigger things to worry about than how you dress. I know. I’m a drama queen. So if this annoys you, why are you still reading?

I'm a tad pumped for winter!

Winter's finally here in Australia! So happy :) Rain today, rain yesterday, hopefully more rain tomorrow and the day after that and after that and yeah you get the point :) I like rain :) It gives me an excuse to sit around my house chilling and doing absolutely nothing. Plus there's hot chocolate! Om nom nom.
Now that winter's here it also means my birthday's coming up soon! Basically all I want for my birthday are clothes. I have some winter staples that I'm really into right now and these (if I don't have them already!) are on my wish list!!
Harem trousers! No, not genie pants, ones that you wear when you're lazy and can't find anything else to wear. I'm talking about nice, good-quality harem trousers. Im picturing an outfit that I could wear out for dinner involving these little babies, black wedge boots and a fitted black blazer. Sooo cute! :)
A black leather jacket. I honestly believe every girl should own at least one leather jacket. It's an essential! In a perfect world, I'd have one in black and one in brown but you know, I can't quite afford that. A black leather jacket can add instant edge and sex appeal to pretty much anything. I alternate wearing my leather jacket with the next item, which is...
A black blazer! Another essential. Adds smartness. Need I say more?
Collared shirts! I personally would like one in almost every colour, but again, I don't have unlimited money... unfortunately... Collared shirts can add some preppiness to any outfit, they're sooo adorable! I love wrapping a thin scarf around the collar and tying it in a bow underneath. Too cute! :)

Tights! I want them in different patterns, different colours, different styles! Ah, they're so much cuter than jeans in my opinion. Plus they can be dressed up or dressed down. At the moment, I'm really into wearing sheer tights with black socks just above the knee :)

Scarves again make a statement and they go with pretty much everything, especially if it has a cool pattern! And of course they keep you super warm :D

Combat boots! I honestly think I wear these babies every day. Like, not even kidding, I'm obsessed. They go with EVERYTHING!!!! And they're comfy which is of course important to me :)

Crosses. Anything with a cross on it. I don't know why I'm so crazy about them considering I'm not a Christian. I just think...they're so...cool! I think I have to incorporate a cross into every single outfit somewhere...

So that's about it, I can't wait until I FINALLY get some money to buy some things on my wishlist!

Oh yay, a friend just got here so I'm off. Ta taaaa!! :)
